A wide range of activities and visitor attractions are on offer in our area. From outdoor activities and sporting facilities to historical sites and stunning buildings and gardens there's something to keep everyone entertained...

Golf

Kilkea Castle Golf Club is just 2 miles from our door with Rathsallagh, Carlow, Baltinglass and Athy Golf Clubs also within a ten to fifteen minute drive. There are numerous other golf clubs in the area including the excellent K-club and Mount Wolseley and Hilton Spa and Country Club.

Historical Sites

Our area is steeped in history with sites such as the impressive Moone High Cross which dates back as far as the 5th century and Moone Abbey and Kilkea Castle and St. Patrick's well. Among other nearby historical attractions are the ancient Brownshill Dolmen in Carlow and the Round Tower and Cathedral in Kildare.

Local Amenities

The River Greese, great for trout fishing, skirts our land. The River Barrow and Grand Canal are close by too and along with Mulacreelan wood make the area ideal for outdoor activities such as walking, boating, horse riding and fishing.

Horse Racing

County Kildare is headquarters of the Irish bloodstock industry. The National Stud is located in Kildare and is open to the pubic. Two of the country's top race courses, the Curragh and Punchestown are also in County Kildare and are within about a half an hours drive of Pill Lodge.

Houses and Gardens

For anyone interested in gardening or horticulture Kildare is home to the exotic Japanese Gardens. There is also the stunning Palladian mansion of Castletown House.

Towns, bars, restaurants..

There are a number of award-winning restaurants in our area as well as local bars with live tradional music and craic. Carlow and Newbridge towns are nearby for shopping, cinema, theatre etc with the cities of Dublin and Kilkenny just an hour away.
